Taking film to the harsh conditions of the desert to capture the action of Speed Week at The Bonneville Salt Flats

In 2010 while at Partners +Napier, Kodak Entertainment Imaging tasked me to create a new film test for their Vision film stocks.
In addition to concepting subject matter that would show off the latitude and organic image structure of Kodak’s motion picture films, I wanted to demonstrate the benefits of shooting film in extreme conditions. At the time, digital capture did not fair well in extreme heat, so Speed Week In Utah’s Bonneville Salt Flats was a great testing ground that would speak volumes to the motion picture film industry.
